NCFE CACHE Level 2 - Certificate Introducing Caring for Children and Young People (QRN: 600/0336/4)

The aim of this qualification is to provide learners with the knowledge and understanding of babies and young children from birth to 5 years of age, with applied knowledge in the early years sector. The qualification is an introduction to the childcare sector, providing learners with a strong foundation in childcare and education, parenting and babysitting. This qualification is most relevant for learners who seek to work, or are currently employed, and aspire to work as teaching assistants in Early Years Settings. Upon successful completion of this qualification, learners can enter the Early Years workforce as a qualified Early Years Practitioner or continue to study for a Level 3 Diploma in the Early Years Sector.
Entry Requirement :
- Learners must be at least 16 years old and above
- Learners must be prepared to gain experience in the workplace to gain essential skills
- Learners must have an intermediate level of proficiency in English Language skills, both written and verbal.
- Learners must possess a high school diploma or equivalent qualification.
Course Content :
- Learning about the role of the Early Years Practitioner, Child Development, and the Importance of play.
- Understanding the stages of child development to provide children with appropriate care.
- Planning and providing play-based activities that promote learning, creativity and imagination.
- Safeguarding the welfare of children and young people.
Learning and Assessment:
- Interactive online training with live instructor-led sessions
- Weekly work plans to complete assignments, ensuring consistent learning progress.
- Learners must achieve a minimum of 16 credit points
- Learners must complete an online portfolio of evidence
- Direct observations of competence in a real work environment

- 3 to 6 months
